Prop 8 - Has Your Home Declined in Value? According to the SLO County Assessor, reviews are currently being conducted for decline in value on all properties of 10 acres or less, purchased after January 1, 2003. If your property is worth less than what you paid for it, you may be eligible for a property tax reduction. The Assessor states that property owners need not file an application.
